How to Decode the Messages of Jealousy and Envy

wellness

Let's talk about envy and jealousy. Oooohhh...fun! ;-)

I've recently had a new insight about these feelings.

Today, I've got a two-minute video I took just before boarding the plane on a day trip I took yesterday to go to the Natural Products Expo—a very fertile place just waiting for FOMO, jealousy, and envy.

It's so easy to look at other people's lives from the outside and judge ourselves for not measuring up. And even though doing that is totally normal in a culture that encourages competition and a scarcity mindset, comparisons are dangerous. We can never really know what's going on behind-the-scenes or what it took for someone to get where it looks like they are.

What I share in this video is kinda vulnerable, but it feels important, and I know I'm not alone.

The great news is that we don't need to be afraid of or get rid of these feelings. Instead, we can use them (and all emotions) as informants that can invite us to get curious, inquire within, and dig around to uncover what messages they have for us.

Check out my video below and consider:

  • Do you ever feel swallowed up by envy or jealousy?
  • Are you sometimes able to investigate and decode those feelings?
  • If you're one of the rare people who is seldom visited by these emotions, how did you get there?

With love,

P.S. If you're wondering about the extravaganza that is the Natural Products Expo/ExpoWest, it's a 1.6 million square feet convention where companies show their latest innovations and offerings. Can you say beyond enormous?!

I've been in the natural foods industry for 22+ years and every year proves to be another one of growth. This year was massive for vegan innovations, proving that more people than ever are demanding healthier, kinder, more environmentally sustainable products. #VeganForTheWin
